The Adult Salmon Diet Program is a citizen science initiative of the Juanes Lab at the University of Victoria. The program, which involves recreational anglers collecting samples, is filling important knowledge gaps in our understanding of salmon feeding - including winter diets - and providing insights into forage fish distribution and ecology.
CWTs are a small, electronic tag inserted into the head of juvenile Chinook and Coho Salmon. Combining recovery data with the release data results in stock-specific information about abundance, distribution and survival. These data are used to make science-based stock assessment and fishery management decisions

The Sport Fishing Advisory Board (SFAB), established in 1964 by DFO, gathers advice from the sportfishing community regarding all waters and sport fisheries managed by DFO.

YANA (You Are Not Alone) is a community organization offering help to Comox Valley families who need to travel for medical treatment for a child or for a pregnant mother. Its purpose is to improve access to healthcare by providing travel funding and accommodation.
Hospice is a philosophy of care that takes place in people's homes, in care facilities, in the community hospice and in hospital. The Comox Valley Hospice Society provides education, care and support when you are healthy, when your care needs change and when a death occurs.
The Comox Valley Child Development Association (CVCDA) supports children, youth and adults with diverse abilities and their families.
Comox Valley Transition Society supports women, children and families in the Comox, Cumberland Courtenay areas and beyond (including Denman and Hornby Islands) who are experiencing or fleeing abuse, overcoming trauma, working toward/through recovery, and those who are unsheltered and/or struggling through poverty.
The Pacific Salmon Foundation, founded in 1987, is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the conservation and restoration of wild Pacific salmon and their habitats in B.C. and the Yukon. For us, it's salmon first, salmon always and we never go it alone.
Ducks Unlimited conserves, restores, and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl. These habitats also benefit other wildlife and people. Waterfowl conservation is facing important challenges as wetlands and other habitats are being degraded and destroyed across the continent.
Comox Valley Dodge hosted its first annual Community Champions Gala. The event hosted more than 135 guests to a night of education and philanthropy, specifically engaging in meaningful conversations about crucial community issues
This fundraiser financially supports over 60 Ukrainian newcomer children through a dance scholarship.
