Salish Sea Marine Survival Project
Avid Anglers collect biosamples from both retained or kept fish as well as live released fish. Individual data records which help provide fishery managers with greater resolution of stock composition, run timing, and spatial location of fishery encounters by individual Chinook stocks from specific river systems.

Salish Sea Marine Survival Project
This massive effort, coordinated by project leads Long Live the Kings and the Pacific Salmon Foundation, has developed the first comprehensive knowledge base of the environmental factors impacting salmon survival as they enter marine waters.
Salmon Diet Study
The Adult Salmon Diet Program is a citizen science initiative of the Juanes Lab at the University of Victoria. The program, which involves recreational anglers collecting samples, is filling important knowledge gaps in our understanding of salmon feeding - including winter diets - and providing insights into forage fish distribution and ecology.
Salmon Head Recovery
CWTs are a small, electronic tag inserted into the head of juvenile Chinook and Coho Salmon. Combining recovery data with the release data results in stock-specific information about abundance, distribution and survival. These data are used to make science-based stock assessment and fishery management decisions
Sport Fishing Advisory Board
I am the local chair and sit on many of the species and working group boards.
The Sport Fishing Advisory Board (SFAB), established in 1964 by DFO, gathers advice from the sportfishing community regarding all waters and sport fisheries managed by DFO.
Stewardship
We are dedicated to working with many of the local fish hatcheries and restoration groups to help the long-term support of our resource we all enjoy.
Community Involvement
Yana
YANA (You Are Not Alone) is a community organization offering help to Comox Valley families who need to travel for medical treatment for a child or for a pregnant mother. Its purpose is to improve access to healthcare by providing travel funding and accommodation.
Hospice Society
Hospice is a philosophy of care that takes place in people's homes, in care facilities, in the community hospice and in hospital. The Comox Valley Hospice Society provides education, care and support when you are healthy, when your care needs change and when a death occurs.
Children Development Society
The Comox Valley Child Development Association (CVCDA) supports children, youth and adults with diverse abilities and their families.
Transition Society
Comox Valley Transition Society supports women, children and families in the Comox, Cumberland Courtenay areas and beyond (including Denman and Hornby Islands) who are experiencing or fleeing abuse, overcoming trauma, working toward/through recovery, and those who are unsheltered and/or struggling through poverty.

Pacific Salmon Foundation
Ducks Unlimited conserves, restores, and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl. These habitats also benefit other wildlife and people. Waterfowl conservation is facing important challenges as wetlands and other habitats are being degraded and destroyed across the continent.

Comox Valley Dodge hosted its first annual Community Champions Gala. The event hosted more than 135 guests to a night of education and philanthropy, specifically engaging in meaningful conversations about crucial community issues
